JOZAN INARI SHRINE SHIKINEN SHINKOSAI FESTIVAL
The Horanenya Festival takes place in Matsue City every twelve years to pray for happiness. Matsue City, a castle town located near the water, boasted a rice harvest capacity of 33,480m3 during the Edo Era. This festival takes place on the water which acts as a stage for the boats which are gayly decorated with flags and bunting and float along like a picture scroll unfolding, reminiscent of former times.
